Alex Craver.

Alex, began his drum studies at age 9 under Bill Smith at the Bainbridge-Guilford Elementary School. Acquiring a drum kit at age 12 he quickly developed a sincere passion for music. At 13 he began studying in a very unorthodox manner for 2 years after receiving The Renton Scholarship, a local music scholarship for promising young musicians. Under the tutelage of Mike Burgevin, Alex learned the value of dynamics and subtleties, and not only how to construct a solo but to "tell a story" on the drums. Soon after Alex became Burgevin’s colleague, along with Sadiq Abdu-Shahid in the drum kit trio drumatiCymbalism.  Throughout high school Alex participated in concert
band, orchestra, jazz band, and in the marching band as lead snare drummer.
During this time Alex received several music awards:
"Most Outstanding in Band,"

"Most Outstanding Ensemble Player", by playing drums for the B-G Jazz Choir at

Berklee School Music along with multiple scholarships for artistic prowess.

In high school Alex played drums for the indie-rock band Abandonship, and later as the drummer and vocalist of The Trip Wilsons, both creating a substantial local fan base in Binghamton, NY.  Currently Alex is a vocalist and percussionist in the Binghamton based band Summer People, promoting their recently released album “Good Problems,” off Manhattan label Red Leader Records.  He is now a senior at Binghamton University majoring in history with plans to tour and write music with Summer People after graduation.
